Your grandkids always claim that they “deserve” a Spring Break, so why not you as well? What better opportunity than to wrap it around a known bell activity?
The 2011 & 2012 WIMI meetings were held in Dubuque IA for the first time. Many attendees said, “Why were not aware of this wonderful town and area? I wish we had allocated more time as there are many things we would like to have done. We must go back again.” So, here’s your chance.

Fenelon Place Elevator Co

The Fenelon Place elevator is described as the world’s shortest, steepest scenic railway, 296 feet in length, elevating passengers 189 feet from Fourth Street to Fenelon Place. Where you will see a magnificent view of the historic Dubuque business district, the Mississippi River and three states.

Taliesin – Frank Lloyd Wright’s home and studio – Spring Green WI
(1.5 hours North-East of Dubuque)

Duration – 2 hours
10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
April: Saturdays and Sundays
$20 per person and $10 for children under 12
Reservations are strongly recommended for all tours. Walk-ins are accepted space permitting only.
This two-hour primarily exterior tour offers visitors a unique overview of the serene valley in which Frank Lloyd Wright spent his youth and to which he returned as an adult to build his home. During the first hour of the tour, visitors will ride by and view the exteriors of Unity Chapel, Hillside Home School, Romeo and Juliet Windmill, Tan-y-deri House, Midway Farm, and, of course, Taliesin itself. An experienced guide provides historical and architectural interpretations of each structure.
During the tour’s second hour, visitors take an intimate walk through Taliesin’s Upper and Lower Courtyards and Orchard, concluding with a special walk-through of Wright’s personal studio.
Switzerland only 1.5 hours East of Dubuque? Of course not, but Little Switzerland is.
