I have a cast bell marked V-M Bell Co Waynesboro, VA stamped into it. I am originally from Waynesboro, VA and I am assuming this was manufactured by Virginia Metalcrafters in Waynesboro. Can someone give me a little history about this bell (dates made, etc). Also, I don’t know if this bell is cast iron or cast steel, bronze or what???

Thank you all for your help.

I know nothing of this company, but a magnet will tell you whether this bell is ferromagnetic (Iron/steel). Bronze would be gray, green, or brown and would not hold a magnet.

I just checked for you. The Virginia Metalcrafters went out of business back in 2006. The made many metal items and started back in 1890. Its a shame it closed but these hard times seems only thing we get is from china.
