I’m new to our church, and have taken the task of finding out about its bell. The markings on it are B.N. & Co. I cannot find any dates. The first church was built in the 1850’s, but was destroyed by fire during the Civil War. The bell survived but in the second church did not withstand the steeple falling. The clapper was destroyed. (a clapper was made by one of the former members of the church to replace it) The bell measures 26″ in diameter and is 20″ tall. I am unable to send a photo of the inside because the bell is now within a brick enclosure in front of the church. I was told the bell is made of steel.

That bell is a Blymer Norton Bell made in Cincinatti Ohio.
