      Hello-
I recently purchased a huge, 1800’s, bronze bell, and the weight is about 1900 pounds. It is, I think, about 42-48″, across at the base. Does anyone have suggestions on where to look for designs for a stand for a bell of this magnitude? I would like to be able to ring it (so off the ground and not resting on something). I would be glad to hear any suggestions! Thanks.

There was a man named David Hall who had the only traveling full sized liberty bell. His website is still up and maintained by his wife ( I think) on it you can find pictures of the trailer and the way the bell is mounted. His website was proclaimliberty.us

U might try this web-site for spare parts: bellsandbirmans.com Mostly Locomotive, he also buy and sells bells…also sells yokes, cradles, spare parts, etc. Polishing services offered.

Typically, a bell this size was mounted on a shaft with each end held up by an “A-Frame” bracket. It will probably be difficult for U to find the proper size, so I suggest that U have one made. 💡

Thanks for the ideas. I checked out the website and that is probably about the same size. And yes, I may need to get some custom work done!
