I love to read stories like this.
Thought I would share it.
But not stories like this posted on a news website on 12 February 2007:
SLIDELL, La. — The St. Tammany sheriff is asking to help finding a missing church bell that’s more than 140 years old.
St. Genevieve’s Catholic Church in the Slidell area suffered significant damage during Hurricane Katrina and is scheduled to be torn down.
Parish officials had the 2-foot by 2-foot bronze bell removed for safekeeping, but in early February, a priest noticed it was missing.
The bell has the name of St. Peter inscribed on the outer band.
Anyone with information on the bell’s location should call Detective Corey Crowe with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-645-2447.
