      Hi American Bell Community,

I have a small brass hand bell that I would like to know more about. The bell overall length is 95mm, the handle is 55mm, it has a 45mm diameter, and weights 79 grams. The only stamp/mark on it is on the clapper.

If anyone has any insight as to the maker, country of origin, period of production, or anything really I would greatly appreciate it.

      Thanks in advance,
      Alex

      ABK,

Interesting bell! I might be able to help you, if you still need it, in the new year. Unfortunately I am in the process of moving so everything is packed up in boxes and it will be a while before I can get back to my “bell hobby”. sigh.

You should be able to find something out about the mark on the clapper – I have seen it before but my old brain cell is drawing a blank at the moment. It appears to be a mass produced cast souvenir bell of some sort, at first looks though. Perhaps that can help direct your search?

Let me know if you still need help in the new year though!

Thanks for the information Garry. I figured my best bet on knowing more about the bell would be the marking on the clapper, the problem is I don’t know what to call it on a search (it does look oddly familiar though). I would really appreciate any help you can offer in the new year.

      Thanks again,
      Alex
