We came across a Sarna bell recently and we’re wondering how to find out about the catalog number. It is maked SSS India M1592. Thank you.

      Dwight,

If you go to the ABA main site, https://www.americanbell.org, and go to the bottom of the menu on the left, you will find a directory of Bell Tower articles. On page 33, you will find a listing of articles about Sarna bells. I would recommend that you order a copy of the article from the May-Jun 2009 magazine. The ABA charges only for copy costs and postage. Directions for ordering should be on the first page. The article may help you identify your bell and tell you what it was used for but it will not tell you the value. The Sarna bells were made mostly in the 1950s and ’60s.

Be sure to read about Mr. Sarna in our library section of this forum.
