Can anyone offer a definition to distinguish between a crotal bell and a rumbler bell? I tend to use the word rumbler to decribe a large crotal bell. But I’m not sure if I am right. Help please.
It’s on my mind because I have just added the following blog that those interested can have a look at.

      Hi Peter,

I can’t say that I’ve ever heard the word rumbler used to describe a bell. Where does it come from?

      Hi Laura
You may be familiar with crotal bells? Well, here in the UK we often use the term ‘rumbler’ to describe what are really just large crotal bells. No idea of the word’s origin. I guess the sound created by having a stone ratttling around within the ball shaped bell is a bit of a rumble!

      Regards
