Rita Walker (91) has passed from this world to be with her husband, Ralph, whom she has missed dearly these last 16 years. Her passing was peaceful. We will miss her daily presence but know she is in a better place. A celebration of her life will be held in the Spring.

Rita was the President of the American Bell Association in 1978 and was a co-founder of the New England Chapter, ABA (NECABA) in 1962.

Rita (LeClair) Walker, 91, formerly of Beverly, Massachusetts, beloved wife of the late Ralph E. Walker, died peacefully Monday, March 9, 2015 at Brooksby Village in Peabody.
Born and raised in Beverly, she was the only child of the late Arthur and Laura (Richard) LeClair. She was a graduate of Beverly High School, Class of 1941. She worked as a secretary at the United Shoe Machinery Corp., as an accountant with Ed Ross Smith, and as a teller at Beverly National Bank and Shawmut Bank. She and Ralph designed and constructed their own North Beverly home in 1951 where they raised their children and lived until Ralph’s death in 1998. In 2002, she moved to Brooksby Village in Peabody.
Rita was a Past President of the American Bell Association. She and Ralph traveled around the country in their Winnebago motorhome attending conventions and adding to their bell collection. She was a well-regarded national authority on bells. She also enjoyed watercolor painting and playing Mahjong. She was a great organizer and over the years was involved with activities in the Beverly School System, Shindiggers Square Dance Club, St. John the Evangelist Church of Beverly, and finally Brooksby Village. She was a hard worker who enjoyed meeting people and making new friends.
Rita is survived by a son, Glenn Walker, his wife Heather, and their daughter Erin Leigh of Wenham; a daughter, Nancy Rogers and her husband James of Amesbury; and a daughter Carol Hall, her husband Bob of Titusville, FL; and his children, Cyndy, Cheri, and Rob, with several great and great, great step grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at the Brooksby Village Chapel on Friday, April 10th at 11:30 AM with a private family burial at a later date.
