      I am new to this site, and am delighted to find others with similar interests.


      This bell was restored to the bell in the photo below.

      What you can’t see are the many attempts to polish this bell on the reverse side. The patina was ruined. It was more or less a museum of abrasive technologies over the last 50 years left for me in a half dozen circular patterns.

      I felt restoration was the best chance to get this bell back on display.

      I know there is discussion about restoring a hundred year old bell. I would welcome comments.

      “Top Brass” in Santee Ca. did this for me.

      Through the centuries ship bells have traditionally been kept highly-polished. The restoration company did an outstanding job on yours.
