      Hello,
I’m having difficulty identifying a long handled brass bell. The handle is at a right angle to the bell.

Overall measurement is: height from skirt bottom to top of crown-type decoration – 6”, length from right angle tip to tip – 12-1/2”, weight: just over 2 lbs. Bell itself measures approximately 2-1/4” in height, skirt approximately 3” in diameter.

There are no identifying markings. There are areas of imperfect casting, and it appears the clapper has been replaced.

I’ve posted this previously, however the posting and any answers have disappeared. Thank you for any assistance.

      Hello, boices5,

I have found a bell similar to yours online. It was described as:

An Antique 19th Century or older Hand Bell it measures12 1/4 inches in length 5 3/4 inches tall and 2 7/8 inches in circumference and weights 2 Lbs. 2 ozs. (This Rare looking Bell resembles the Tibetan nine point varja hammer weilded by their deity Damchan Dorje Legpa).

      You can see it at

Be sure to notice the price they’re asking for the bell!

Sorry I can’t tell you more.

      Carolyn
