      Here’s a neat bell I obtained recently!

I haven’t had a chance to do much research on it yet, but perhaps someone out there can point me in the right direction.

It’s very pretty, brass, with a deep mellow sound (reminiscent of a train engine bell – abet smaller). Clapper and it’s hanger appear to be iron. Interestingly, the hanger appears to be more of a “U” shaped staple, that terminates into recessed grooves.

      Vital Stats:
Brass construction, appears to be molded then turned (notice the nice rings on it!).
Height: 3 inches , with an additional 1 inch by a tapered 5/16ths inch tang on top.
Diameter at bell: 3 5/8ths inches.

Has a number molded onto the side (note the profile photo showing that it is RAISED from the side!). Difficult to read, appears to be 15 or 13 (my feeling is that it is a 13).

      Any thoughts out there?

      Thanks
      Garry
