Andrey Martynyuk and Marina Kyrychenko,
in association with designer Vyacheslav Maleev,
have decided to issue a new bell for 2014.
The bell will be based on William Shakespeare’s tragedy King Lear,
and will feature characters and events from the play.
Wikipedia: King Lear is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. The title character descends into madness
after disposing of his estate between two of his three daughters based on their flattery, bringing
tragic consequences for all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Lear
Description of King Lear bell by Marina Kyrychenko:
issued by Andrey Martynyuk (Kiev, Ukraine)
design by Vyacheslav Maleev (Sevastopol, Crimea)
Bronze, 12 cm, deep relief, heavy casting.

Top is two birds in the cage (Cordelia and King Lear). Clapper is a broken heart.
” Come let’s away to prison:
We two alone will sing like birds i’ th’ cage;
When thou dost ask me blessing, I’ll kneel down
And ask of thee forgiveness. So we’ll live
And pray, and sing, and tell old tales, and laugh.”
