Rather interesting and unique question, perhaps if you gave some details as to what you are trying to find out?

The type of bell you are describing have been produced for decades, and are still available brand new today. The design hasn’t changed much and they are available on a variety of backgrounds, i.e. horse shoes, plants, etc.

A Google image search will turn up a plethora of them.

So with literally hundreds to choose from, it would be difficult to know which one you are looking at/for.

If you are trying to date one in your possession, It would be best to give detailed images of that one here. Perhaps we can get some hints from markings or attachment points etc. to give you a range of dates. Without great documentation though, it will be difficult to prove a specific date.

I don’t know anything specific about the bell that you describe, but these are quite modern and are available as patio bells at many outdoor stores. You can also find them on a brass anchor at most ship’s chandelries near the sea coast of any of our countries. Theseare sold as patio bells, and yacht bells. I hope that this helps.

Out of curiosity, is this what you are thinking of?
