Have you looked on the inside of this bell to see if the “maker’s mark” could possibly be solder put there to cover up a crack in the bell? I realize with the amount of corrosion on the bell, you might not be able to see if there’s a crack.
I have checked the inside and took some pics,I don’t see a crack but you guys would know much better than I do. I also tried to get a better shot of the mark and the inside shot shows the underside of the mark I hope this helps.

Thank you for making the effort to check out the questions I asked. I really have no idea about this bell or the maker’s mark other than it looks like an animal bell to me. Let’s hope someone with some expertise on this type of bell will respond soon.
My suggestion would be to do a search for “cleaning brass bells” in the darker blue strip at the top of this page. There are at least five pages that deal with cleaning bells. However, your bell is more crusted than many so I’m going to leave it to someone else to give you advice on cleaning it.
