This interesting table bell is of German origin. I had been looking for it for several years and when I received information from ALAN on an ongoing auction in Germany I decided to make a bid on it and I was successful.

The bell has been manufactured by a company called “J.P. Kayser Sohn” at Krefeld during the ART NOUVEAU period around 1900.

The product line of this company is known under their trade mark “KAYSERZINN”.

The material is TIN which is seldom used for table bells and it shows a young maid – possibly a teacher in a private home.
