I was hoping to find some more info about this foundry I have been buying, removing, and collecting church bells for a few years now and this is the first one we have acquired from this foundry, from everything I have gathered so far it looks as though they have cast a relatively small number of bells this one is marked #78 I have seen another one posted on ABA from 1870 with the #120 does anyone know if this is the actual order in which they were cast? The bell is 24″ diameter and has a very nice relief on it with Ben Franklin…Thanks in Advance for any help.

Here’s an interesting article giving the foundry’s address as 120 N 6th St in Phila.

Thanks for the interesting article, I wonder if they ever got the bells out of the church, what a shame how these amazing buildings go to waste…

I’m pretty sure the ‘No. 78 N 6 St” refers to the Foundry’s address in 1850….we just don’t use the word ‘number’ in writing our address’ now. 💡
