This inquiry was originally sent to the ABA’s Internet Coordinator.
I just wanted to write to let you know that my Mom, Lois Blackburn, died on Feb 21, 2008 at the age of 89. She and my Dad, Andy Blackburn who died in 1995, were both very active members of the Bell Friends of Wisconsin and the ABA. You know they were committed members as they actually both volunteered and hosted the ABA National Conference that was held in Appleton, Wisconsin a number of years ago. Mom was the original Bell collector but Dad joined in and loved the people he met and the meetings they attended and of course the BELLS! They always had great stories about the meetings and the Bell Friends. I was fortunate enough to meet a number of what my Dad affectionately called the “Ding-a- lings” and the people I met were warm & wonderful people, like my parents were. From the old Jimmy Stewart Movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, I am certain that many bells were heard to be ringing on Feb 21, 2008, when my Mom who was/ is an Angel got her wings :+). Thanks for all the joy you brought them as members of the ABA and the Bell Friends of Wisconsin.
