Can anyone tell me who started this business and how long it existed? I have a bronze swivel cannon with their marks, and a friend has a large (1/2 ton or more) bronze 8-pounder cannon with nearly identical marks. There’s a fantastic large bell in a French museum by Lecorant, shown or linked in another discussion on it here:

Neither of the major French military museums I’ve contacted are aware of this foundry. I’ve pointed out the two cannons and the bell that is in their own country to them, but they do not seem to believe such a foundry existed, but that may be due to language barrier, I don’t know.

Can somone tell me about the Lecourant foundry of Rennes, France?
