I finally decided to do some research on the John Wilbank bell I have in my bell tower. My carriage house was part of the Governor Sproul estate in Delaware County, PA. The carriage house has a 55′ tall bell tower with a John Wilbank bell, dated 1835, in place. I am in the process of restoring the bell tower and am ready to tackle the bell assembly. The clapper portion had to be welded several years ago and is now ready for re-installation. Unfortunately I am not sure how it is supposed to be assembled. Can anybody provided direction? I will post some photos when I figure out how to do so. I am new to this forum and look forward to hearing from anybody. Regards, Ed

Hi, Ed, and welcome to the ‘Bell Talk’ Forum! I don’t have an answer to your question. However, I don’t understand your question. Are you asking how to put the clapper back in the bell now that it has been welded? I’m just trying to clarify your need in hopes that someone can tell you what you need to know.

    Good luck!
