John McCombie – Rest on Arms – 13″ bronze table bell

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW), John T. Crawford Camp #43, with the support of the Indiana County Tourist Bureau, and the Historical and Genealogical Society of Indiana County, have come together for the purpose of honoring Indiana County’s approximately 2,800 Civil War Veterans. The Memorial project will take the form of a life-size bronze statue of a Civil War private atop a barn stone base. The memorial will be placed in the front lawn of the Silas M. Clark House, a former GAR Post 28 meeting hall in Indiana, PA.

John McCombie was asked to design and cast this bronze statue. In order to support their cause, John is also offering the design in the form of a 13″ bronze table bell, Rest on Arms, #37 in the series of bells he has made to date. John and Barb are donating a portion of the proceeds from this bell to the SUVCW.

While intended to honor the Civil War Veterans from Indiana (Pennsylvania) County, the figure is non-denominational in the sense that it represents all soldiers in any war and the ones they left behind.
