Recently acquired a brass bell from James P. Allaire. The bell has his foundry name on it. Trying to find out if this bell came off of one of his steam packet boats or from his brass foundry in New York on Cherry Street in the early 1830s. This bell ended up in Louisiana and I live near Allaire State Park in Monmouth County, NJ where James P. Allaire started a town called Allaire Village, Howell Iron Works. James Allaire built ships and was business acquaintances with Paul Revere and Robert Fulton.
