Greetings everyone, glad to be a part of the group. I recently acquired a rather large bell and I’m looking for help in dating it, country of origin, composition, and where it may have been used. My guess is that it’s a maritime bell.
It weighs around 65 lbs, and measures 15” across at the bottom. From top to bottom it’s about 16”. I have found no identifying marks other than the large cross.

I do not think your bell is U.S. or Canadian. I am guessing European or Mexican. The ring in the bottom of the clapper is consistent with use as a ship bell, although not all ship bells had that. The “heavy” ornamentation is consistent with Mexican work. The bell is, of course, bronze.
