I have read all the discussions here that I could find, as well as some online. I posted a few months ago that I had bought an old brass ship’s bell, and I would like to clean it. There is some of that common green colored corrosion appearing, and I’d like to get rid of it, but I would like to leave the nice patina. I have a mount ordered, and plan to display it indoors.

Some collectors use toilet bowl cleaners, others their own concoction of household foods or cleaners, etc. But I thought why not ask the experts here! Again, I don’t really want to end up polishing it, just get rid of the green that is here and there on it, and give it a nice cleaning….Thoughts or ideas?? 😀

      Many thanks!!

      None of the above please.
For a small fee you can have a professional refurbish your bell.
Top Brass in Santee Ca. does some fine work.
