I have a Bronze Bell 16 3/4″ with cast iron yoke & lever actuator, believed to be off #3114 Santa Fe 2-8-2 Mikado. Bell is 13 in tall 16 3/4″ in diameter with yoke overall size is 25″x 25″. Approx weight 250lb. Provision is on yoke casting for air actuator placement.
I would like help in finding out the value as well as authenticating this bell. Would anyone have info on where I can go to get reliable info. Please call 816-228-3352 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. The #3114 is stamped on several places on the bell and yoke.
Thank you for your assistance. Harry Campbell
Based on what I’ve sold locomotive bells for, I’d say it’s worth around $1,600 to $1,800 depending on condition and if you can authenticate the locomotive it is from. It doesn’t have the name of the railroad or the maker of the bell and that holds the value down a little. — Neil
