      Kitty in Washington State has sent us pictures of three bells and would like to know what they are and who were their makers. The three bells are posted separately. Here is a picture of the first one:

      I am not a glass expert, and hopefully one of our members who is will respond with more information. This bell appears to be a Bohemian style glass bell with gold overlay. It is probably less than 40 years old and was probably produced in the former Czechoslovakia or Austria.

      I would agree with Harry’s assessment as to materials, age, and probable origin. Bohemian glass, probably Czech, Austrian, or West German.

      They’re nice bells, For the last 150 years, the Bohemian bells (along with Murano, with whom they’ve had a close association) have been consistently among the best crystal bells in the world.
