I received a bell collection from my Grandmother and I don’t really know what to do with it. If I decide to sell it, is it better to sell the bells individually or as a collection?

      rcihak,

If you contact me at coordinator@americanbell.org, I will email you some information about selling a bell collection.

Also, there is information on this forum that may be of interest to you. Go to viewtopic.php?f=20&t=48.

As to whether it is better to sell the bells individually or as a collection, that’s up to you. Does “better” mean get the most money? Or the easiest way to dispose of the bells? Or the way of disposing of the collection? Or the least amount of time spent trying to find a buyer(s)? There is a lot to consider.

But, perhaps the most important thing you need to decide is how much money you want for the bells.

      Good luck!

You will likely get more per bell if you sell them individually, but it will take a considerable period of time. An auction will be the quickest, but you will probably get less money since the number of participants will be limited and will not spend large amounts per bell. In addition you will pay 30-50% to the auctioneer depending on how much work the auctioneer does.

Thanks for the input guys. I will contact you Carolyn and see if there is a resource you can recommend. I don’t necessarily need top $ for the bells, would just like to get them out for people to enjoy. I just never had a passion for the hobby. Thanks again
