I was fortunate to be able to collect 4 bells from the Dorothy Malone Anthony collection. I like to think they are in a good new home! 😆
This is one of particular interest, that I would like to get more details on. As Dorothy (and her son Alan also I believe) have been long time ABA members, perhaps one of you have seen it before and might share some insights ❓
About 4″ tall and 2″ at the bell mouth, it does not hold a magnet.
The design is very french, marked “gold filled” on the handle, and appears to have 7 diamonds set around the hood. The handle appears to have a lozenge on either side, presumably for initials or a monogram to be added.
Alan indicates that he has not come across it in his mother’s books, but has kindly supplied documentation that it is from her collection.
Does anyone else out there have more information?
➡ (as an aside, I also obtained her 8″ wooden bell, a bisque angel, and an opera house glass bell – any interest in me posting photos of those too?)
