Welcome to the ABA! › Bell Talk Forums › Large Bells › Found 16" Fredericktown OH bell
I am new to this forum and so this is my first post.
I recently came across a bell that is shown in this album:http://s941.photobucket.com/user/ilyaz73/library/Frederick%20Town%20OH%20bell
It’s in a fairly decent shape, no cracks or chips that I noticed, although it is missing its clapper.
The bell is 16″ in diameter at the bottom and has “Fredericktown Ohio” and also letters “A” and “B” stamped on it.
It has probably been painted fairly recently and the paint is chipping in a few spots but I see very little if any rust.
I’d like to learn more about it. Is it safe to assume it’s about 100 years old? What do the “A” and “B” mean? Anything else particularly special about this type of bell?
This person has this bell currently listed at eBay.
