I recently learned of flat bells in Russia. Wondering if anyone knows what they are made of or where I could get dimensions to maybe build a set? They look to possibly be brass square plates and played with mallets. They sound nice, but I can’t seem to find information about them, just what I am able to see on youtube.

      Thankx!

Here’s a video/audio of the bells in question. Looks like flat brass in different dimensions hung from a frame and rung like a gong.

      Very nice sounds!

Apparently a larger set exists in the Spasskaya Tower. Here’s the article on that!

Hello! The flat bells are produced by us – the Zhikharev’s manufacture.
They are called Bila Zhikhareva. They are used for churches, for musicians, by amateurs for households, in medicine and in fontain carillons (water carillons).
