I have recently purchased a gold-plated bell and wish to clean off fingerprints and one small corrosion(?) spot. Recommendations I have seen recommend immersing gold jewelry etc. in jewelry cleaner, but the bell has a paper label inside. Suggestions?
The jewelry cleaner can be applied with a cotton ball and will not damage your label. Avoid any abraisive as it will buff through the gold plate. In fact, if you have tarnish spots, the plating has already been damged as gold does not tarnish.
