Has anyone ever heard of large church or farm bells? Temple Aluminum Foundry makes a no 2 cast aluminum bell that sounds as good as a cast iron one. I have cast 2 or 3 that ring pretty good but none over 15 inches. I have pecked on aluminum cooking lids and they ring with a sustaining ring. Also there are wind chimes that really ring good of aluminum. I would like to know if it has ever been tryed to pour a very large church bell similar to cs bell company bells out of cast aluminum? Cast aluminum is more brittle than regular aluminum. When broken it looks much like gray cast iron. If they could be made it would be easy to lift them up to a belfry because aluminum is light weight.
