      Hello,
I am new to this forum and I would like to ask for help in identifying this bell. It appears to be a Mission Bell, or Mexican Independence commemorative bell, but I am unsure. It is marked “1811” and has a more or less floral pattern. It appears to be either bronze or brass. It weighs about 11 pounds and measures about 7 1/2″ tall and 8″ across it’s base. I would like to know an approximate age for it. Thank you very much for your help. Pictures attached.

These tourist souvenirs bells have been discussed extensively in this forum. They are modern productions that are frequently sold as antique Mexican mission bells. Max Kurillo has written extensively on them in this forum.

Thanks for the information. I had a bit of trouble navigating the site, but I think I see the discussion you mention.
