Our member in Malaysia, Molly, needs some suggestions. She writes:

I want to find out from you where would I be able to find some interesting bells in NY and is there a bell museum there? Also in Washington and Philadelphia as i may have a chance to get there some time soon. What about Indianapolis?

If you can help, please post a response.

The Liberty Bell is a must see in Philadelphia, but you might not be aware of the 2nd Statehouse Bell that is in the library of Villanova University. It was the 2nd bell purchased from Whitechapel for the old statehouse and was the clocktower bell until the tower was removed. The bell then went to a Catholic chuch near Independence Hall until the church burned to the ground. The bell then went to Villanova. The current clocktower bell at Independence Hall is a Wilbank bell thaat was purchased after Wilbank refused to take the Liberty Bell that it purchased for scrap. There is a bell museum in the crypt of the carillon at Valley Forge National Park. It was donated by an early ABA member and is worth seeing.
