Welcome to the ABA! › Bell Talk Forums › Small Bells › Bells from Argentina
I am not sure how true this is, but I am told that bells from Argentina are fairly rare.
I find quite a number of foundries in the country, but none found to date advertise bells, so maybe this is correct.
Here are a couple I got from a Buenos Aires (Argentina) seller.
They are supposed to be ‘antique’ 1940’s square bells manufactured in the country.
All brass construction, 2″ x 1.25″ x 1″ for the larger one, 1″ x 1 1/4″ x 3/4″ for the smaller. Solid clappers attach to an embedded brass bar.
For such a simple cast item, I find the simply stated clean square lines with the small lip at the hem quite refreshing. They are a nice pair with a high pitched tinkle.
Any other thoughts out there?
