This bell is made by J.Harkness in Sydney Australia, its totally original and makes a great display piece.

A very unusual mounting with cast wheel and yoke, but wraught iron side pieces in place of stands. I’ve never seen one like it. Neat and ornate. That’s part of the fun of bell collecting, there is always something out there you’ve never seen before. — Neil

Thanks Neil for your comments I’m glad you enjoyed the pic, it makes it all worth the effort.

I concur with Neil’s remarks but with one exception. The straight headstock from which the bell hangs is very similar to others I’ve seen on small old tang-topped bronze bells. I wonder whether it was made by a blacksmith, original with the bell, and older than the rest of the mounting. If on the other hand all of the fittings are actually of the same age, then whoever made them must have been familiar with this very old method of hanging such bells.
