      I was given a large bell from my father. He does not know the history; other than it was most likely made during the early 1900’s. His home was in McComb, Mississippi; which is a small, but important, railroad town. I assume the bell was from a locomotive, but that is only a guess (based on the primary occupation in McComb. I am not able to locate any markings on the bell, so I have included a few pictures. I would estimate the bell to weigh 75 lbs. Notice the ‘recangular’ portion on the top. Any assistance is appreciated…

      This certainly looks like a railroad bell without the bracket. It could also have been used on a riverboat. I don’t know how you will be able to further define its use woithout more information.

      Thanks for your comment. I have looked all over it, but there are no markings. I guess I will have to make up a story about the bell’s history for anyone who asks….
