      Hi, Karen!

For Consideration, your bell is a new one cast maybe in China.
The origins are in a vintage Dutch brass doorbell, wall mounted Victorian knocker with angel. Inscribed with the words: VOCEM- MEAM-A-OVIME-TANGET. Meaning “whoever touches me hears my voice. This knocker has a nice patina. Approximately 15.75″ high and about 7″ wide. The bell is 8″ x 4.75”. Very detailed and ornate.

      Hope this will help you!

      Dear Karen,

You can see this same bell at viewtopic.php?f=11&t=5398. The story is somewhat different. It is not unusual for stories about bells to vary.

You may want to look at this bell at viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3793&p=7117&hilit=Monastery#p7117 for more opinions.

      You have a beautiful bell!
