Boy it got quiet on this site suddenly!

Here’s a bell I recently obtained. I call it my ‘art deco’ bell, and it’s very well made.

Appears to be all brass with a green ‘wash’ type paint. 2 1/4″ diameter, 4 1/2 ” high.

Very well made, but no markings (other than a 69 in felt from the last collector on the inside). Looks very ‘designer’ even to the clapper, so I suspect it might be attributed to an artisan. Style is very art deco period.

      Any ideas?

It sure looks like an Israel bell to me. All the ones I’ve seen were very well made. Hopefully someone knows more about the makers, as I know nothing other than they were made in Israel. I’ve also seen ashtrays, letter openers, mezuzahs, etc. all appearing to be made by the same company with that nice green patina.

I agree. This is a modern Israeli bell. These are sold a souvenirs. They come in many designs, but most have the blue-green painted patina.

Shows how much I have to learn! 😀

But when two knowledgeable folks say the same thing, it’s what it is! Would have been nice to be “deco” but it remains a fine looking bell!

Thanks for helping identify the bell!
