One of these little bells was sold at the ABA Covention auction this year. I picked one up in the UK recently.
Can anyone tell me anything about this bell?

It’s commonly called the St. Peter’s Bell. Both Baker and Springer have references to it.

      Thanks

Forgive my ignorance, but who in this context are Baker and Springer? Then I can know how to access information about the bell?

      Regards

      Good old google!

I have tracked down ‘The collector’s book of bells’ and reserved a copy at my local library.

Nothing on Baker so await your reply.

As you have found, Elisinore Springer’s Collectable book of Bells – page 100 has the most information. Donna Baker has written 2 books Collectable Bells – mostly pictures with some information. I’m not sure which book St. Peter’s bell is in.

If you watched any of the video concerning the selection of the new Pope, you will have seen the ringing of this bell after the announcement with the white smoke of the selection of a new Pope. This bell is a souvenir bell replica of the large bell in the Vatican and has the 12 Appostles on its skirt. The handle at top is the Papal Crown with a Cross attached.
