Hello, Can anyone help, I’m looking for information on my American Farm Bell #1 that’s been in the family for over 75+ years that I know of. It’s 14 inches in diameter at the base of the bell and 12 inches tall. The base polls stands over 8 feet from the ground. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Good job of posting, TexasBell! Thanks! Can you tell us the name of the foundry that’s written on the bottom of the hanging bracket, please? Thanks!

Hey Texas! Your bell was cast by the American Bell Foundry in Northville, MI.
I have several similar in 16″ and 18″ sizes, and an ABF 36″ as well.
Yours has some repairs done to the upright, including augmentation to hold the yoke axles in place for safety or theft reduction!.
A fairly common farm/dinner bell, thousands were cast in the early 1900’s.
I think they ring better than the CS Bell bells.
      Enjoy
      KC
