      Herbert C. Stafford
      Obituary

      Herbert was born in Galesburg, Illinois on August 19, 1918 to James and Mary Stafford. Graduated from the University of Illinois in Electrical Engineering, he worked at Naval Avionics on satellite communications. A member of Irvington Methodist church for over 70 years and a longstanding member of the American Bell Association, he worked on many committees and projects for both groups, generally initiated by his wife, Kathryn. He was an excellent photographer and also created fantastic woodworking pieces of art. He loved the outdoors and visited most of the National Parks plus walked most of the trails in the Indiana State Parks more than once.
      He is survived by his daughter, Sue Wakat; grandchildren, Becky Rodgers (Steve) Humphrey, Susan Rodgers (Dave) Patschke, Bryan and Barbara Wakat; great grandchildren, Sabrina Wakat, Zoe, Holly, Nicholas and Zachary Humphrey, Kathryn Indiana and Brydon Patschke. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathryn Stafford; and daughter, Barbara Stafford Rodgers. Funeral arrangements by Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park East.
