I have a family bell I would like to gain some info on. It is cast iron with a number of 4 1/2 cast into the side, it is 18 inches across, 10 inches high, and the top is 6 1/2 across the top. There is no frame except for an eye bolt in the top that had the striker connected inside the bell. No other markings are readily noticed.it has been in our family since at least late 1950.
      Any help would be great.

The Foote Foundry in Fredericktown, Ohio cast farm bells in half sizes. I don’t know if other foundries did this. Foote cast bells from the 1870s until around 1910.

Thanks for the info, I’ll post a few pics when I can. Since your response I have looked up Foote bells and this sound to be similar to what I have. THANKS. KWJ
