I have one of the 1878 Chiantel Fondeur Saignelegier brass bells, which I got in the 1970’s from a friend on a trip to Florida. It is cast brass with a brass clapper, 6’’wide at the base, 5’’ high. It has a machined rim, another machined ring about 1’’ up from the rim, and the top is machined. The top flat surface has the raised name ‘Giovano F. Brasco cast onto it. Can you tell me if it a cheap reproduction, or the real thing? Is it worth anything?
