53a – CLOCHE DE TABLE ANTIQUE COURONNE ROYALE EN BRONZE
Note: I am unable to copy the description because of the way that it is stored.

However, this bell is similar to the “Flint Glass” bells, in that the handle is similar to the ones found on that type.
It does not have the square glass base, but probably dates from the same period, c. 1900.

Some good friends, longtime bell collectors, have told me that the handle is the symbol of Mary of Guise, queen consort to James V of Scotland, and mother of Mary Queen of Scots.

Cloche en cristal légèrement teinté violet.
Carotte en bronze peint.
Date du XVIIIIème siècle.
Hauteur 10 cm.
Superbe sujet ,travail de grande qualité.
En parfait état,pas de fèle ni de coups.

Date of the eighteenth century.
Height 10 cm.
Beautiful subject, high quality work.
In perfect condition, no cracks or chips.

One of the highly sought flint glass bells.

Many bell collectors, including myself, are kicking themselves for not having bid on this great bargain.

53c – CLOCHETTE XIXème, souvenir de Bretagne.
11,5 cm de haut.
Le verre est malheureusement complètement cassé.

19th Century table bell, souvenir of Brittany.
11.5 cm (4.6 in) high.
Unfortunately, the glass is completely broken.

Another of the flint glass bells. I have not previously seen this handle, but it is out of my area.
