Not much description, but not much is needed for this older tap bell, made at a time when quality was an important consideration in goods offered for sale, and an example of the bargains that can still be found.

The seller fails to recognize that the bell was made by Gorham, but presumably most of the bidders did not.
One of a series of six teabells made by Gorham in the period roughly from 1870 – 1930.
The leopard face mark shows that this bell was made in 1891.
At the top end of the range that I would recommend for one of these bells,
but it is an attractive example and the price does include shipping.
251c – Bronze Figurine Bell – The White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland Servant Costume
A lovely solid bronze figurine bell in the form of The White Rabbit from the book Alice in Wonderland. The rabbit is shown as he is depicted in the last few chapters, as a herald-like servant of the King and Queen of Hearts. The bell measures 12cm high.
This looks like one of the Ukraine bells designed, cast, and offered by Andrey Martynyuk.
However, it is an unauthorized reproduction, i.e. a fake.
This to me is nothing more than theft of intellectual property.
Andrey’s bells are highly original designs, unlike any others previously made, and cast to high standards.
A company in Moscow, which specializes in reproducing the work of others, tried to order some of the Ukraine bells. Andrey refused the sale, anticipating what would happen. They then used some of Andrey’s designs, probably had the bells cast in China, and are selling them from Moscow and London. The listing pictures are always dark, and do not show much detail.
This reproduction bell sold for $75. Andrey’s original bell sold for $130, and are still available.
“Quality is never an accident. It is always the result of intelligent effort.
There must be the will to produce a superior thing.”
There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and
sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man’s lawful prey.”
“It’s unwise to pay too much, but it’s worse to pay too little.
When you pay too much, you lose a little money – that’s all.
When you pay too little, you sometimes lose everything, because the
thing you bought was incapable of doing the thing it was bought to do.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a
lot – it can’t be done. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well
to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will
have enough to pay for something better.”
