I had not previously seen a bell like the one in Part 228f above.
It seems it is part of a series, all figures on a globe with a band reading PORTUGAL.
At least 7 are shown in the bottom pictures.

THREE MOTHER OF PEARL SHELLS, MOUNTED TO RESEMBLE EGGS
THE BELL HAS A SPRUNG MOUNTED BIRD TO THE TOP, USED AS THE CLANGER.
THE METAL WORK IS A GOLD GILT COLOUR / BRASS METAL, MOUNTED ON A MARBLE CIRCULAR BASE.
IN ANTIQUE CONDITION, THE FRAME IS SLIGHTLY LOOSE TO THE BASE(SEE PICTURES OF THE BASE)
MEASURING 5 3/4″ TALL BY 3 1/2″ WIDE.

SILVER PLATED WITH ELKINGTON HALLMARKS DATING THE BELL TO 1910
HEIGHT 4.0″DIAMETER 1.8″

One of my all time favorite bells. Seems a little ahead of its time – an Art Nouveau period piece
with more of an Art deco design. Heavily tarnished, as these bells tend to be, but will clean easily.
Also found in bronze.

229c – Cast Sterling Figural Dinner Bell English Import Marks 1907
4 5/8″ long sterling dinner bell of Dutch or German original. Bell itself marked 935 with English sterling import marks for the year 1907. Heavy cast piece weighing 3.8 troy ounces. Estate silver in excellent condition.

Slightly above English silver grade at 935/1000 versus Sterling at 925/1000.
