217a – SUPERB VINTAGE TABLE TOP SERVANT BELL PUSH SWITCH SILVER PLATED DRAGON 1920
VINTAGE SILVER PLATED TABLE TOP SERVANT BELL PUSH SWITCH modeled as a DRAGON
(Just the thing for calling your servants!)
In my estimation it dates from around the early 20th Century, circa 1920s, but please make up your own mind about this.
The bell push switch measures approx 2 3/8 inches (60mm) tall, and is made from silver plated metal.
It has approx 7 foot ( 2140mm) of silk covered, low voltage cord attached, and is meant to operate a battery powered bell. (It is not for mains voltage).
It is beautifuly modeled as a mythical beast or dragon, and has a push switch on the base.
It is in good original condition with very light wear consistent with its age, but no damage or repairs.
I have not tested it, I can see no reason why it should not work.
Would display much better after a light polishing.
Low price for a bell push like this.

Pixie (also Pisky, Piskie) is associated with two Southwest counties of England – Devon and Cornwall.
Dartmoor is a large moor in Southern Devon, now a national park.
Quite a few different pixie bells were made, though this in an unusual wall mounted example.
Besides Dartmoor Pixie, some are labeled Exmoor Pixie (a moor in Northern Devon, also a national park), Devon Pixie, Widecombe Pixie (a town in the Dartmoor area), Cornish Pixie, and Polperro Pixie (a town in Cornwall).
217d – Vintage Brass/ Bronze Man/ Lady Bell – 6″
This very interesting Vintage Brass/Bronze Man / Lady Bell is in very good condition with original clacker which is suspended from an horizontal bar. The figure stands approx. 6 ” high. the bell has some marks on the back.
I am not certain just what this figure represents. The headgear has a Uraeus (rearing cobra) like an Egyptian Pharoah, but is missing the usual Nemes headcloth.
