195b – Antique German Porcelain Monk Holding Umbrella Basket Nodder Bell Figurine
Up for auction is an antique Porcelain Nodder bell figurine of a monk holding a basket under his arm and an umbrella in his right hand. It measures; 7″ tall to the top of his head x 2-3/4″. There is a small rough spot along the bottom, but this is how the piece was made (as shown in the images). He’s missing the pin that supports his head to make him nod and clang, but you could easily inset your own metal dowel. The head/clanger portion measures just over 4-1/2″ long. Overall, it’s in good antique condition.

195c – Antique German Conta Boehme Porcelain Lady Queen Holding Fan Nodder Figurine
Up for auction is an antique Porcelain Nodder figurine of a Lady or Queen holding a fan in her right hand. I found this one in my Conta & Boehme reference book. Most of their pieces are unmarked. She has lovely handpainted details and gold gilded accents. It measures; 4″ tall to the top of her head. There is a small 3/16″ piece chipped out of the back of her neck and there’s a small crack running along the back her neck (as shown in the images). I don’t know if that is the original pin supporting her head because it does slide at times. Her head does nod nicely. Please be sure to take a look at the other nodders that I currently have listed. The black Chinese man is also a Conta & Boehme piece as I found a picture of this in the book also. It’s most likely that the other pieces are also from them.
