186e – RARE VINTAGE UPSIDE DOWN BRASS LADY BELL WITH LEGS HANDLE
AN UNUSUAL AND RARE UPSIDE DOWN BRASS LADY BELL WITH LEGS HANDLE.
IT STANDS 3 1/8 INCHES TALL AND 2 3/8 INCHES WIDE AND 1 3/4 INCHES FROM BACK TO FRONT.
A spoof on the common Southern Belle.
Attracts attention, often sells for more than I think it is worth.
186f – Lady holding a tray of fish Brass Hand Bell
Height approx. 13.5 cms, Weight approx. 620g
Has a combined 2 leg clapper. Very attractive.
Nice detail including fish in a tray/ basket and lid.
Another of the early Pearson Page bells, c. 1920. Some are made a little better than average, and some have a nicer patina than average. This is toward the top of both scales.
Sold at fair market value.
186g – Antique Tibetan Brass Figure Lady Bell
Antique Tibetan Brass Figure or Lady Bell measuring 4.5″ inches high.
I don’t know if it was originaly a bell or whether someone has tried to turn it into one.
There are two holes at the top where a fixing for the clanger would have been.
Yet another of the early Pearson Page bells, c. 1920. This one has some problems.
She was originally holding a fan vertically along her left cheek.
This fan and part of her left hand were somehow broken off.
Sold well above fair market value.
